A cannabis company known as Happy Flower LLC is proposing a marijuana microbusiness at an industrial building on Fremont Street in Worcester, according to plans submitted to the city’s Planning Board.
The business is proposing a facility to cultivate and manufacture adult recreational cannabis in a 7,000-square-foot space at 41 Fremont St. The space would undergo a two-phase development to build out the office, reception, security, and grow operations.
The proposed site is located less than half a mile away from Cookies, the California-based dispensary which opened at the rebranded New Dia location in August.
Happy Flower is registered to managers Robinson Joachin and Sheila Phicil at a residential Maynard address. The pair have experience conducting indoor cultivation, overseeing complex operations, and managing staff, according to the application to the Worcester Planning Board.
Happy Flower entered into a host community agreement with the City of Worcester in October, according to the application.
In January, the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission approved a provisional license for Happy Flower to develop a marijuana establishment at 41 Fremont St. The company will need a final license from CCC before beginning operation.
The Fremont Street property is nearly 58,200 square feet in total and zoned for manufacturing, including cannabis production.
The Planning Board will hear Happy Flower's application on Wednesday.
