The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission will host a virtual panel titled Cannabis x Equity on Friday, at the 2020 Fierce Urgency of Now Festival, a partnership between Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and City Awake, the regulatory body announced on Tuesday.
Panelists will include participants in the state’s social equity program, certified economic empowerment priority licensing applicants, and marijuana establishment owners and founders who are certified through the state as minority-owned businesses, according to the commission. The panel will be emceed by the CCC’s interim director of community outreach, Alyssa Flores.
The panel will aim to provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the state’s cannabis industry, equity programming and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Individuals from communities disproportionately impacted by cannabis prohibition, arrests and incarceration are especially invited to attend.
The panel will take place at 1 p.m. Friday. Registration is available online.
