Cannabis banking firm names first COO ahead of expansion to other states

Lighthouse Biz Solutions, LLC, a cannabis financial services subsidiary of GFA Federal Credit Union in Gardner, appointed Melissa Maranda as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Maranda began her position on April 11, according to a Thursday press release from LBS.
Maranda has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and business sector, most recently serving as senior vice president of wealth management and trust services at LBS.
She will be the company’s first COO, as the firm is trailblazing the cannabis industry. LBS is the first in Massachusetts to provide banking and lending services to the recreational cannabis industry, and is expanding to serve the cannabis market in other states.
“The cannabis banking team is thrilled to have Melissa join us as we expand our programs and service area,” said LBS President Tina Sbrega in a statement. “We are a growing organization, and the addition of a COO is welcome.”
