A tour of restaurants in Worcester's Canal District each Saturday has started back up for its second year.
BirchTree Bread Co., Table Talk Pies, El Patron, Bay State Grill, Queen’s Cups, Steam Energy Cafe and Binh An are participating with food samplings. At least five participate in each tour.
The owner and founder of the Canal Food Tours, Lori Stanton, said the response to the tour has been strong.
“It’s been a great solution for folks entertaining out-of-town guests and even for local businesses looking for a new option for outings," Stanton said. “At least one person on each tour says that they had no idea that all of this was happening in the Canal District.”
The tours are less than a mile of walking and include local history and trivia. Tickets are $48 per person, and the tours begin at 10 a.m. each Saturday at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center. The tour takes two and a half to three hours.
