Cambridge Firm Flees To Bedford

Makoto Life Sciences Inc. has leased 20,000 square feet and moved its corporate headquarters from Cambridge to 15 DeAngelo Drive in Bedford.
According to Boston-based commercial real estate firm Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, Makoto will sublease the entire first floor of the building from Applied Biosystems.
RBJ represented Makoto in the lease transaction. Applied Biosystems was represented by Boston commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.
RBJ noted that Makoto's move is part of a trend of life sciences companies moving to Boston's suburbs. Makoto said the Bedford location is more accessible for employees, cheaper and more conducive to future growth.
