Caliper Life Sciences Inc., a life sciences equipment developer based in Hopkinton, has licensed one of its patent portfolios to New Jersey-based medical device firm Becton, Dickinson and Co.
The portfolio includes the intellectual property for Caliper’s microfluidics line, which is used in the development of molecular diagnostics technology, vaccine and other research. Caliper holds 350 patents related to its micorfluidics line.
As part of the license agreement, Caliper and Becton Dickinson agreed to settle litigation between Caliper and HandyLab Inc., a company recently acquired by Becton Dickinson.
Financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
