Jaco, Inc. in Franklin has been acquired by a California medical device and IT mounting solutions company. GCX Mounting Solutions announced the acquisition of Jaco on December 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Jaco was founded in Bellingham in 1971, incorporated in 1972 and had their headquarters in Bellingham until 1999. It moved into its current headquarters in Franklin in 1999, which also serves as its manufacturing facility. The company designs, manufactures, and sells point-of-care IT workstations for the healthcare markets – including powered carts, non-powered carts, wall arms, and video-presentation carts.
GCX has offices in North America, Europe, Japan and Taiwan. It also operates warehouse and production facilities in Petaluma, California; El Paso, Texas; and New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, which was started in 1999 and has offices in Boston, New York, San Francisco and London. Audax acquired a majority stake in GCX in September, 2021.
