A pair of buyers has paid $5.3 million for two properties hosting long-term care facilities in Gardner and Leominster.
The sales, which both closed Dec. 2, included the properties of Leominster Rehabilitation and Nursing Center nursing home in Leominster and the Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Gardner. The sale price is for the properties and don't necessarily include the businesses themselves.
The buyers are a pair whose names are connected to a wide range of similar nursing facilities: Ephram Lahasky of Lawrence, N.Y., and Akiva Horowitz of Springfield, N.J. Lahasky and Horowitz also bought the Fitchburg Gardens nursing home site in Fitchburg in October 2019 for $2.5 million.
Both sites were sold by Maryland-based Omega Healthcare Investors.
Wachusett Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, whose site sold for $3 million, couldn't be reached for comment. The site was last assessed by the City of Gardner at nearly $1.6 million. It last sold in 2016 for more than $5.7 million.
Leominster Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly known as Keystone Center, at 44 Keystone Drive, sold for $2.3 million. The facility will remain open. The site was last assessed by the City of Leominster at nearly $1.6 million. It last sold in 2016 for $3.6 million.
