A Burlington investment and development firm has paid $7.2 million for a vacant industrial building on Goddard Memorial Drive just down the street from the Worcester Regional Airport.
The 172,000-square-foot, single-story building has been home to Tyco Electronics and most recently TE Connectivity, which is a successor to a merger with Madison Cable Corp.
TE Connectivity, a Swiss electrical components company, sold 125 Goddard Memorial Drive to R.J. Kelly of Burlington, a firm that also owns an office building at 405 Cochituate Road in Framingham and a self-storage facility at 201 Flanders Road in Westborough. R.J. Kelly bought the Framingham office building, which houses offices for Fidelity Investments and Liberty Mutual, among others, in August for $12.4 million.
R.J. Kelly couldn't be reached for comment. The deal closed Sept. 15.
TE Connectivity reported a quarterly loss of $41 million on nearly $2.5 billion in sales in July. The company says it has 80,000 employees worldwide.
The nearly 20-acre site, whose building was constructed in 1983, was last assessed by the City of Worcester at $5.7 million.
