Bull Spit Brewing Co. of Lancaster received approval for a liquor license from the Maynard Select Board in a unanimous vote on Nov. 16, giving the greenlight for the small brewery’s first expansion, the brewer announced on Thursday.
Bull Spit’s second location will be located at 20 Sudbury St.
“We are excited to have found the perfect location for our second home,” said President Keith Kopley. “We have a strategic vision for the future of Bull Spit Brewing, and the Maynard location fit perfectly into that vision."
The new location previously house Battle Road Brewing Cos., according to the announcement. Newly renovated, it includes a 150-barrel brewhouse, taproom, a commercial kitchen, and outdoor space.
Bull Spit plans to make the location family friendly and provide live music.
Kopley said in the announcement he hopes to have a grand opening in late January or early February.
Previously, Bull Spit planned to move into a second location in Winchendon, but that sale was put on hold following environmental concerns about the property. MassDevelopment awarded the town $150,000 in September to help remediate the land, located at 4 Summer Drive.
Bull Spit said those plans are still in the works.
