Boston Scientific announced that it has received the European CE Mark for its Artisan 2×8 Surgical Lead for use with the Precision Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) System. The device delivers electric signals to help mask patient pain.
This most recent approval will potentially expand the application of BSX’s neurostimulation technology to an additional 20 percent of people with chronic pain of the limbs, back or trunk needing the surgical lead.
The Precision SCS system is implantable in patients, and masks the pain by inducing a tingling sensation known as paresthesia. A remote control allows patients to control where the device will provide relief.
