With Lt. Gov. Timothy P. Murray in attendance, Brookfield Renewable Power was expected to formally unveil its new corporate headquarters at 200 Donald Lynch Blvd. in Marlborough today.
One hundred employees will work from the new location by the end of the year, according to the company.
It will also house the company's multi-million dollar command center that will remotely control the more than 100 power facilities it has across the country.
Brookfield Renewable Power announced its intention to move to Marlborough last spring, citing the seriousness of the state's efforts to attract and support renewable energy companies. It was formerly located in Quebec, Canada.
It has more than 100 years of developing, owning and operating hydroelectric power facilities. It owns and operates 101 facilities in nine states. Among these is the Jack Cockwell Pumped Storage facility, formerly the Bear Swamp Pumped Storage facility, on the Deerfield River in Rowe and Florida in Western Massachusetts.
Brookfield Renewable Power is owned by Brookfield Asset Management, which manages global assets mostly in property, power and other infrastructure assets of about $95 billion in value. The company has 10,000 employees in the Americas, Europe and Australia.
