Marlborough-based Brookfield Renewable Power Inc., an owner-operator of renewable energy facilities, announced it has donated 100 acres of land in New York to the Hiawatha Institute for Indigenous Knowledge at Syracuse University.
The land contains the site where the Iroquois Confederacy is believed to have been established 800 years ago; it is considered sacred by various indigenous North American tribes, according to the institute.
