New York City pharmaceutical giant Bristol Myers Squibb has selected the head of Sanofi Pasteur’s biologics manufacturing to be the new general manager of its expanding facility in Devens.
Odile Smith will lead operations for Bristol Myers Squibb at the Devens site, where the company does manufacturing for biologics medicine and will expand into cell therapies for fighting cancer once its 244,000-square-foot expansion is complete in 2023.
Smith was most recently the U.S. head of biologics manufacturing for the vaccines division of the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi, which is headquartered in Paris.
Smith earned her PhD in medicinal chemistry from the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ecole Europeenne des Hautes Etudes des Industries Chimiques de Strasbourg in France.
