Brian Lovett

Age: 31
Title: Managing Partner
Company: Computer Recycling USA
Company location: Ashland
Residence: Wayland

Career highlights:
Until 2003 I was in sales/marketing management for several companies that designed and implemented IT infrastructure. In 2003 my business partner Rocco D’Amico and I started an IT equipment rehab business (Brass Valley). As the company grew we found that when we were selling new computers to our clients, many of them had limited options with how to dispose of their old electronics.
We developed Computer Recycling USA to help our clients manage the risk associated with electronics recycling from both environmental and data security standpoints.

Community involvement:
My time volunteering gives me the joy of being able to support someone else in reaching his or her goal. It doesn’t really matter if that goal is eradicating cancer, a new business venture, or just a kid’s first time at bat. I have been a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters since 2003 and coach my daughter’s soccer/softball teams. At work we are adopting charities like Art beCAUSE and the Mazie Foundation to assist them with their fundraising goals.

Biggest success:
One of the largest privately held companies in the country came to us a few years back with a problem. They had to close 23 offices across the country within 12 months and had no manpower or budget to do it. Together we developed a mobile asset recovery plan and put a team in place to accomplish the task.
With our new formula, we started another company, Office Closure USA. By helping a company solve its problem we were able to enter and carve a niche into a new market for ourselves.

Dream Job:
I would enjoy working for a turnaround organization repairing companies that are not performing. I like to fix things.

Businessperson he admires most and why:
My father, Curt Lovett, started out working in the Wonder Bread Factory and went on to hold positions including EMT, firefighter, underwater recovery diver, owner of national ambulance company, owner of a real estate company, owner of a land development company and a lobbyist. The reason I admire him the most is that he had a special ability to inspire people around him.
