A Brazilian steakhouse in Marlborough, with its all-you-can-eat buffet for $15.99, has been named among the Top 100 restaurants in the U.S. by online reviewer Yelp.
Pruller Restaurant, the family-style eatery, was among three Massachusetts restaurants to make the list. Located on Lincoln Street, the eatery came in at No. 76.
To make the list, the San Francisco online website’s data team reviewed restaurants by ratings and number of reviews based on each place’s share nationally, according to Yelp spokesman Brenae Leary. The result is a list as quirky and unique as the Yelp community itself, Leary said.
In 2019, Pruller received 232 reviews on Yelp. Of that number, 174 were five stars, 52 four stars, and the rest were two and three stars.
This review of Pruller on Yelp by Michele B. of Boston was typical: “All you can eat for 15.99? I mean come on, bring on the garlic beef! All of the meats that I've tried are incredible. They have a little buffet with a few options, but the real choices come from the menu on the wall. Any of the meats listed are available, and you just tell them what you want. They'll pull it and cut it fresh and hot just for you.”
Carmelina’s in Boston’s North End, which features traditional Sicilian comfort food with a Mediterranean twist, was listed at No. 49. Brockton’s JJ’s Caffe on the city’s north side specializing in gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes was ranked 78.
Shawarma Guys, a popular San Diego food truck, topped the list. Yelp said the unassuming little truck, parked six days a week on Grape Street in South Park, received nearly 500 reviews and a five-star average. Yelpers love their chicken shawarma wrap, the website said.
