Boxborough Firm Makes First Acquisition
Egenera Inc., a Boxborough-based software company, announced the acquisition of a cloud software company based in Dublin, Ireland. It is the first acquistion for the 10-year-old Egenera.
The company said in a statement that the acquistion of Fort Technologies enables Egenera to expand its cloud services offerings and expand its footprint in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
“The acquisition allows us to help our customers move to the cloud faster and create more enterprise-class, resilient and secure clouds,” said Egenera CEO Pete Manca. “Fort Technologies’ distinctive approach to cloud management turns the design, deployment and management of IT services into a simple drag and drop exercise. This enables service providers and enterprises alike to grow and succeed in the cloud.”
Employees of Fort Technologies are now employed by Egenera’s Cloud Products group, and former Fort CEO Gerry Murray will lead EMEA operations, according to Egenera.
