Boxborough Co.'s CEO Joins National Academy of Engineering

W. Allen Marr, president and CEO of Geocomp Corp. in Boxborough, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering.

Membership in the academy honors engineers who have made outstanding contributions to the field.

Marr founded Geocomp, which helps clients identify and manage risks in infrastructure projects, in 1982. The company now has 77 employees in Boxborough, New York City and Atlanta.

Marr received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of California at Davis in 1966. He also has master's and PhD degrees from MIT.

Geocomp develops Internet-based sensors and automatic testing machines to ensure the stability of bridges and other structures.
