The Institute for Energy and Sustainability, a new Worcester-based organization, has named Bowditch & Dewey LLC partner Vincent DeVito as interim executive director.
DeVito is a former assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy.
The IES, which recently changed its name from the Institute for Energy Innovation and Sustainability, was founded in June 2009 to promote economic development and job growth in alternative energy and conservation. It grew out of discussions led by Congressman James McGovern, Clark University President John Bassett and Worcester Polytechnic Institute President and CEO Dennis D. Berkey.
In his new position, DeVito will direct the IES’s day-to-day operations.
