Bowditch & Dewey to grow Worcester office by 33%

Because of an anticipated increase in workload from businesses and other clients, law firm Bowditch & Dewey plans to hire an additional 15 lawyers over the next five years, Managing Partner Michael Angelini tells the Worcester Business Journal.

The new lawyers will increase the size of the firm’s Worcester office by one-third, Angelini said. The firm has other offices in Boston, Framingham and Washington, D.C.

“It historically has not been easy to attract young lawyers to Worcester,” Angelini said. “It has been easier the last two to three years. People are just interested in coming here.”

Bowditch sold its long-time office building on Main Street to hockey developer Cliff Rucker for $2.8 million in December. The firm then signed an eight-year lease with Rucker that will include modernization of the offices.
