The Worcester-based law firm of Bowditch & Dewey LLP has named James D. Hanrahan managing partner and hired new associates Devon A. Kinnard, Brian J. Mullin and AiVi Nguyen.
In his new position, Hanrahan will help set the strategic direction of Bowditch, which has offices in Worcester, Framingham and Boston, and Peterborough, N.H. He has been a member of the firm's management committee since 2001 and has also been the administrative manager for the Framingham office.
Louise M. Ciavarra is stepping down as managing partner to focus on his law practice.
Hanrahan focuses on planning, permitting, conveyancing and leasing. He serves on the executive committee of the South Middlesex Opportunity Council Inc. and is president and chair of the Corporation for Sponsored Ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston. He earned a bachelor's degree from Boston College and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. He lives in Framingham.
Kinnard is a new associate in the firm's business and finance practice area and also works in intellectual property. He has a bachelor's degree from Clark University and a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. He lives in Worcester.
Mullin is now an associate in the litigation and employment group. He focuses on management representation in employment disputes. A Westborough resident, he has a bachelor's degree from Salem State College and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
Nguyen is an associate in the litigation and employment group. She has a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from Boston College Law School. She lives in Worcester.
