Boston-Power, a Westboro-based developer of longer-lasting lithium ion batteries, has raised $8 million in first round financing.
This most recent round of funding was led by investors Venrock Associates and Gabriel Venture Partners. Earlier, the company received funds in a seed round led by private investors, including company chairman Carol Latham.
The company also announced its board of directors, comprised of several battery industry experts. Chairman Carol Latham will be supported by Anders Barsk, Michael Feinstein, Scott Chou and Boston-Power CEO and founder Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud.
