Westborough battery maker Boston-Power Inc. has hired four new executives: Tom Spade, Fred Pourmehr, Eric Tu and Beter McElhinney.
Spade joins the company as vice president of global sales for portable power. He previously worked as vice president of global sales for Validity Sensors Inc., helping to expand the company's Asian operations. In his new role, he will help the company develop business in markets requiring mobility.
Pourmehr, the company's new vice president of quality, oversees the company's factories, helping to provide statistical training support and implementing quality initiatives including Six Sigma programs. Before taking the job, he was vice president at C-Tech International Corp., managing the company's global corporate quality program.
Tu is now vice president of Asia manufacturing, making him responsible for the construction and operation of Boston-Power's first manufacturing plant in China. He will also help the company's manufacturing partner in Taiwan to expand its capacity. Previously, Tu was vice president of North American operations and corporate technical processes at JDSU, where he oversaw chip fabrication and device assembly and directed the establishment and expansion of Chinese and Taiwanese plants.
McElhinney is vice president of finance, managing all accounting and financial systems and handling compliance and growth issues. Previously he worked in several financial capacities for L-3 Communications.
