Boston firm completes Mendon solar project

Two energy companies have completed 7.4 megawatts of solar arrays at three projects in the state, including one in Mendon.

Boston solar firm BlueWave Solar and Toronto-based AMP announced the completion of the projects Tuesday.

The community solar arrays will produce clean energy for residents, small businesses and the public in Eastern Massachusetts, BlueWave said in a press release.

The Dover project, a 1.4-megawatt array, will provide energy credits to nearly 80 subscribers, including residents, businesses and the Dover-Sherborn Regional School District.

The remaining 6 megawatts are split between arrays in Mendon and Westport, BlueWave said. Those two are expected to provide energy to several housing authorities, including in Bellingham.

BlueWave expects the projects to reduce carbon emissions by 6,790 metric tons each year.
