Framingham-based Bose Corp. said it had settled a patent dispute with a well-known headphone manufacturer.
Bose filed suit against Phitek Corp. in U.S. Distirct Court and at the U.S. International Trade Commission claiming that Phitek infringed upon Bose patents for the noise-reducing headphone technology found in Bose’s QuietComfort headphones.
Phitek allegedly made the offending headphones for Audio-Technica and Creative Labs. In the settlement, Phitek agreed to make changes to its headphones in order to steer clear of the Bose patents at issue.
