Framingham-based Bose Corp. has released its smallest and most rugged portable speaker yet: the SoundLink Micro Bluetooth speaker.
The device, just 3.75 inches wide and 1.5 inches high, weighing just .64 pounds, is waterproof and will even keep playing music if dropped in water.
The company said the speaker will provide up to 6 hours of “surprisingly-loud-and clear audio and low bass.”
The Micro uses voice prompts for Bluetooth pairing, has an integrated speakerphone and a multi-purpose button to take and make calls, Bose said.
The speaker, which will be available for $109.55 starting Sept. 21, is also outfitted with a silicone exterior that protects it from damage, dust dirt and sand.
It can be preordered on the company’s website and will be available at Bose retail stores and authorized Bose dealers.
