BNY Mellon could receive a $317,000 tax credit from the state because of its investments in Westborough.
Last year the company purchased PNC's global investment servicing business, located in Westborough, and earlier this year BNY Mellon announced it would move 250 jobs from the PNC Pawtucket, R.I., offices to the Westborough location.
Today, the company said it plans to hire an additional 150 workers in Westborough on top of that.
With the addition, the company will employ more than 4,000 workers in Massachusetts, including about 1,300 in Central Massachusetts, according to company spokesperson Joseph Ailinger.
The new jobs in Westborough will come online in January and will include such positions such as data entry, client services, back-office processing and documentation support, Ailinger said.
As part of the company's $3.17 million investment to fit out 4400 Computer Dr., where the company operates in Westborough, BNY Mellon has also applied for a tax credit from the state worth about $317,000. Officials from the state's Economic Assistance Coordinating Council are expected to vote on the matter.
