BMW To Use Readers From Natick Company

Natick-based Cognex Corp., which makes sensing equipment for manufacturing production lines, has agreed to supply their products to German automaker BMW.

Cognex sensors read codes that are marked on engine parts and gear assemblies to ensure all parts of a manufacturing line are processed correctly.

Cognex is supplying DataMan hand-held devices and In-Sight fixed-mount ID readers to BMW plants around the world, the company announced Wednesday.

Financials of the agreement with BMW were not disclosed.
