The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation has awarded $635,000 in grants to organizations, including some in Central Mass., that promote health care for uninsured and poor residents.
The Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers in Shrewsbury received a $40,000 grant to help train and advocate for community health workers.
Neighbor to Neighbor in Worcester, Fitchburg, Leominster, Holyoke, Springfield and Boston received $35,000 to advocate for health care access and affordability for low-income residents.
In all, the foundation made grants of between $25,000 and $50,000 to 16 community organizations around the state.
