Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor names new board members

The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor, based in Northbridge, announced a spate of newly elected board officers and members on Thursday.

Among them were former state Sen. Richard Moore, who was named president of the board of directors.

Other board officers elected include: first vice-chair Dennis Rice, former executive director of Alternatives, Inc.; second vice-chair Lee Dillard Adams, a self-employed consultant; treasurer Yvonne Chita, an accountant with Rhode Island firm CayerCaccia; and secretary Todd Helwig, a partner at Mirick O’Connell in Worcester.

The Heritage Corridor works with community partners to preserve and promote the region’s historic, cultural, natural and recreational resources, according to a press release.
