Year-over-year sales at BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc. of Westborough rose 10.3 percent to $1.18 billion in June.
Comparable store sales rose 7.3 percent, with more than half of the increase driven by gasoline sales.
BJ’s said its sales rose in all major regions of the United States, with the most growth in the Southeast and Upstate New York. The discount club stores sold more beauty products, food, computer equipment and small appliances, but fewer diapers, pre-recorded videos and televisions.
BJ’s announced last month that it is going private through a $2.8 billion sale to private equity firms Leonard Green & Partners LP and CVC Capital Partners.
