BJ's Opens Three Stores In New York, Virginia
Westborough-based BJ's Wholesale Club, bought last year by two private equity firms, announced it has opened three new stores on the East Coast.
The addition of the Gainesville, Va. store brings the wholesale retailer's presence in that state to 12. And new stores in Deer Park, N.Y., and Ithaca, N.Y., bring that state's total to 40 stores.
Two private equity firms, Leonard Green & Partners LP and funds advised by CVC Capital Partners, completed their acquisition of the formerly public company in September in an all-cash transaction worth an estimated $2.8 billion.
After the sale, analysts predicted the company could be eyeing an expansion out of its current core markets.
