BJ’s Wholesale Club has announced a special shopping hour for healthcare workers and coronavirus first responders available without a club membership.

The Westorough-based retailer has designated 8 to 9 a.m. on Sundays as an Appreciation Hour. Healthcare workers and first responders can sign up for this restricted membership at any BJ’s starting on Sunday.

The new shopping hour outside of normal business hours joins hours designated exclusively for those 60 years old or older at all locations from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

In addition to these dedicated shopping hours, BJ’s has made other changes in response to the coronavirus pandemic. These include additional pay for front line workers and additional hiring to meet the needs of its stores.
