BJ's Wholesale Club will have a grand opening Saturday for a new store in the Charleston, S.C., area, making South Carolina its 16th state.
The store in Summerville, S.C., is the Westborough chain's 215th store.
BJ's is also planning a new store in Hanover Township, N.J., next summer.
BJ's has since 2011 been privately owned, by affiliates of Leonard Green & Partners, CVC Capital Partners and its management team. The company said last month it is starting a new business-to-business sales division to offer bulk pricing, coordination of multiple truck or container orders, and special ordering and pick-up.
In addition to South Carolina, BJ's also has stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.
