BJ’s Wholesale Club in Westborough added two digitally-focused executives to its management team, the company announced Tuesday.
Scott Kessler was named executive vice president, chief information officer, replacing Peter Amalfi, who is retiring. Kessler has experience leading information technology at multi-billion dollar retailers and e-commerce companies, and has built systems that support rapid sales growth and delivered IT service improvements.
He joins BJ’s from department store chain Belk, which has nearly 300 stores, and holds a bachelor’s degree and master in business administration from Farleigh Dickinson University.
BJ’s also hired Rafeh Masood for the new role of senior vice president, chief digital officer. He will drive strategy for BJ’s e-commerce and omnichannel efforts, focusing on programs and initiatives that drive sales and enhance value and convenience for customers.
A graduate of DePaul University with both a bachelor’s and an MBA, Masood joins BJ’s from Dick’s Sporting Goods, where he was vice president of customer innovation technology. At Dick’s, he used technology to improve the customer experience and ran digital platforms and enterprise architecture.
