Natick-based BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. has elected Christine Cournoyer, president and COO of Wakefield-based software company Picis Inc., to its board of directors.
Cournoyer was named to Boston Magazine's 2003 "Top 100 Women in Business" list and to Business Week's 2001 "Top Ten Women in Technology."
Picis sells software to automate hospital documentation and business practices. It employs 720 people in North America, Europe and Asia.
Cournoyer moved to Picis in 2006 from Harte Hanks Inc., where she served as managing director. She has also held senior management positions at Lightbridge Inc. and IBM.
She received her B.S. in business administration from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and a M.A. in economics from Northeastern University, where she is a Ph.D. candidate.
