Big Y Foods, Inc. of Springfield has appointed longtime employee and Westborough resident Jim Wilson as its new director of workforce management.
Wilson succeeds Jim Killam, who recently retired. Wilson has worked for Big Y for 25 years, most recently as director of the Franklin store. He started in 1991 as a cashier in the Holden store and eventually worked his way up into the store manager training program. He began working at corporate headquarters in 2000 and went back into the stores in 2005.
As director of workforce management, Wilson will oversee labor budgeting for all 77 Big Y stores including their World Class Markets, supermarkets, Fresh Acres Specialty Market, Table & Vine wine and liquor division and Big Y Express Gas and Convenience locations. He reports to Vice President of Store Operations Richard Bossie.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, and a master in business administration from Anna Maria College. He is married with four children.
