Big Y acquires Park Ave. Pharmacy in Worcester

Springfield grocery operator Big Y Foods, Inc. has acquired the independent Park Avenue Pharmacy in Worcester.

Springfield grocery operator Big Y Foods, Inc. has acquired the independent Park Avenue Pharmacy in Worcester, with all the store's prescription records being transferred to the nearby Big Y store.
In addition to the records transfer to the Big Y Pharmacy and Wellness Center located inside the Big Y at 100 Mayfield St., the Park Avenue head pharmacist, Scott Najarian, will join the team at Big Y, according to a release from the supermarket. He will join his brother Keith Najarian, who is the pharmacy manager at the Big Y.
The move comes as other independent pharmacies in Central Massachusetts, such as Hopkinton Drug, have closed their doors.
