Best year for Boxboro security firm

Boxboro's Crossbeam Systems Inc. reported its best year on record for 2006.
The company, which undertakes unified threat management (UTM) for large communications networks, said shipments of its high-end UTM units nearly doubled in 2006.
Company revenue grew 75 percent over 2005, according to the company. Also, Crossbeam said 49 percent of its revenue came from North America while 51 came from international customers.
In all, Crossbeam's customer base grew by 750 organizations during the year, a 20 percent increase.
Driving the growth were the company's security switches. Crossbeam's products provide telecommunications security to residential and commercial subscribers of mobile, broadband and telephone networks.
