Whether it’s tending to landscaping in the heat of summer or clearing snow from parking lots in the dead of winter, LEI Corp. has been a reliable year-round helping hand for Central Massachusetts businesses and property owners for 38 years.
LEI lists more than 35 services provided on its website, offering everything from mowing and mulching to more intensive projects like concrete work and catchbasin repairs and installation. This all part of the company’s mission to be a one-stop-shop for client’s property management needs, said LEI President Steven Christy.
“We will do anything and everything that [clients] need, and I mean that literally,” Christy said. “We do a lot of work that's not landscape related, whether it be a water main break, a sewer break, or storm emergencies.”
Available 24 hours a day, LEI has helped local businesses deal with a number of calamities threatening their operations, playing a key role in helping local companies recover from everything from random late-night water main breaks to damage from a devastating ice storm in 2008.
“We had a large apartment community during the ice storm of 2008 that lost all its power,” Christy said. “We brought in back-up generators and had them hooked up. We ran the the whole project for them to get them electricity until power could be turned back on.”
Originally founded in Worcester in 1987 and now headquartered in Boylston, LEI has grown to one of the largest commercial snow contractors in the country, according to Snow Magazine, and now provides services across the wider region.
Despite the growth, LEI remains committed to its original Central Massachusetts customer base, which helped turn it into what it is today, said Christy.
“We’re a Worcester company,” he said. “We do service all of New England now, but our roots are in Central Mass., our headquarters is in Central Mass., and we've been a homegrown company for 38 years now.”
