The MetroWest Medical Center has added 14 adult beds devoted to mental health treatment in Natick with the opening of the Center for Behavioral Medicine at Leonard Morse, according to the center.
The expanded facility will offer behavioral health services that include partial hospital programs, intensive outpatient programs, traditional outpatient and emergency services. For over three years the medical center has had 90 percent occupancy in its behavioral units, according to the center, with those numbers climbing to 97 percent in the last year.
Previous to the expansion, behavioral capacity in Natick was 16 adult beds, 16 geriatric beds and 12 child beds. The expansion adds 14 adult beds and four child beds, bringing the total number of beds to 64.
“Tenet Healthcare, our parent organization, has been focused on providing a solution to the growing need for behavioral health services in Massachusetts,” Barbara Doyle, CEO for MetroWest Medical Center, said in a release. “Last year a community needs assessment proved these services were a top priority for the MetroWest area and Tenet is fully supportive of investing to address a community need."
