Behavioral Concepts, Inc., an autism assistance provider with a center in Worcester, has announced Colleen Canty will run the organization’s new Fitchburg location.
BCI opened the new location at 207 Authority Drive earlier this month that will replicate programs and services provided at BCI’s corporate headquarters at 345 Greenwood St. in Worcester. The Fitchburg center will also be a base of operations for staff providing in-home services.
There is a great need for these services in the Fitchburg and Route 2 corridor area, according to Dr. Jeff Robinson, founder and director of Behavioral Concepts, and this new location allows the company to expand out from the in-home services it has been providing in the area.
Canty began her behavioral services work in the Fitchburg community as the program manager of in-home behavioral services for LUK Crisis Center. She then moved into a behavioral consultant role in several local public school districts, including Fitchburg, Ayer-Shirley Regional, and West Boylston. She’s currently an adjunct professor at Cappella University and a Ph.D. candidate at Antioch University.
A ribbon-cutting for BCI’s Fitchburg office is scheduled for Jan. 17 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the 207 Authority Drive location.
