Beechwood is Four Diamond hotel again, AAA says

The Beechwood Hotel in Worcester is again the only Four Diamond Hotel in Central Massachusetts, according to AAA Northeast.

The hotel, located on Plantation Street across from UMass Memorial Medical Center and UMass Medical School, was first recognized as a Four Diamond hotel by AAA in 2010. 

The hotel is the only to receive the distinction west of I-495. The other 49 hotels are in Boston, Greater Boston, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.

Only three in Massachusetts — all in Boston — received Five Diamond status: The Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and Ritz-Carlton. 

According to AAA, only about 6 percent of hotels make the Four Diamond list.
