Financial publication Barron's has ranked Westborough wealth management firm Grimes and Co. the 27th such firm in the nation.
The ranking of top independent financial advisors was printed in Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal. The ranking was based on volume of assets overseen by firms, revenues generated from those assets and quality of the firms’ practices.
According to the ranking, Grimes and Co. has assets of more than $2.2 billion and its typical account is worth $3.5 million.
The company was one of seven from Massachusetts ranked in the top 100 financial advisor firms and the only from Central Massachusetts.
When reached by phone, President Kevin Grimes said the list is "validation" that the company is successful since it was founded in the 1980s.
"I think it's good for clients to see that the people they're working with are being noticed and acknowledged on a national level," he said.
