Republican gubernatorial candidate Charles Baker has more than twice as much money in the bank compared to his competitors.
According to the most recent filings with the state's Office of Campaign and Political Finance, Baker had $2.36 million on hand at the end of May. He raised about $375,000 and spent $281,000 last month. Baker is the former head of Wellesley-based Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
Democratic incumbent Deval Patrick, meanwhile, began May with $1 million and finished with $1,033,421. He raised $137,000 in the month and spent $104,000.
State treasurer Tim Cahill, who is running as an independent, raised $86,240 last month and spent $21,000. He finished the month of May with $1,052,542 on hand, outpacing Patrick. He started the month with $987,693.
The three will face off in the election this November.
