Azimuth Systems caps off strong '06

Azimuth Systems, an Acton-based provider of Wi-Fi test equipment, announced today that the company recorded record revenues in 2006, and used investor funding to help boost its product line.

In December, Azimuth received an additional $7.5 million in funding from current investors   (read "Azimuth receives $7.5 million in VC funding"), helping the company prepare for expansion into the WiMAX and cellular markets.  The company is backed by venture capital firms Kodiak Venture Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners, among others.

The firm noted several key product developments in '06, which helped Azimuth realize major growth in the service provider segment of its business.  As service providers recognize the need for "Carrier-Grade" Wi-Fi voice solutions, Azimuth has ramped up new product offerings such as the Voice over Wi-Fi test software that allows users to test converged wireless devices for voice quality, roaming performance, and batter life of wireless Voice Over Internet Protocol handsets.

"Azimuth has succeeded in growing its customer base, while also building a comprehensive Wi-Fi product portfolio around our unique testing architecture," said company CEO Jim Iuliano.
