Properties at 50 & 60 Barnum Road in Ayer and lots on Barnum Road in Harvard were purchased by Michigan produce company Riveridge Produce Marketing Inc. through the entity Riveridge Mass Land Co., LLC. of Sparta, Mich. for $3 million, according to the Middlesex South Registry of Deeds and the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.
The 60 Barnum Road property and the Harvard lots were sold by Joseph P. Sullivan & Co., a family-owned produce company specializing in the packing and shipping of apples since 1925.
The 60 Barnum Road property is 3.5 acres. The land and improvements are assessed by the Town of Ayer for $1.8 million.
The 50 Barnum Road property was sold by Apple Orchard Realty Trust and Edward O’Neil, owner of Fairview Orchards Inc. and Fairview, Inc. a trucking company at that address. The property is just under an acre and the property’s total assessment by the Town of Ayer is $676,000.
Riveridge grows, packs and ships apples and other fruit. It is made up of 117 family-operated orchards according to its website and represents half of Michigan’s fresh apple crop according to its LinkedIn page.
