Rocky Hill-based Axsys Technologies saw its second quarter profits rise to $3.8 million, a 48 percent increase over the $2.6 million it earned a year ago. Earnings per share climbed to 36 cents, up from 24 cents. Revenue for the company, which specializes in optical systems for the military, climbed to $49 million, up from $39 million in the last year.
