LKQ Corp., a Chicago-based auto part recycler and aftermarket sales company, is expanding its presence in Leominster with a $500,000 purchase of an adjacent 2.5-acre lot.
The sale, finalized on June 14, saw LKQ purchase the lot from Prince River Mill LLC, a Hardwick-based entity, according to Worcester Northern Registry of Deeds records. The vacant, unnumbered parcel on Patriot Circle in the Jytec Industrial Park was given a tax assessment value of $105,900 in 2024, according to City of Leominster property records.
LKQ has operations in North America, Europe, and Taiwan, according to its website. LKQ operates an auto part store in Webster and a product distribution center in Webster.
Founded in 1998, the firm purchased the former Greenleaf Auto Recyclers operation from Oregon-based Schnitzer Steel Industries in 2009, according to Recycling Today.
Joel Aho, president of Aho Properties in Marlborough, represented ownership and sourced the buyer in this transaction.
