Applebury Behavior Associates purchased the former Learning Express Toys and Gifts headquarters in Devens and plans to open a new clinic at the location.
The $1.5-million sale was completed on Thursday, according to the Worcester district registry of deeds. Toy Building LLC, an affiliate of Learning Express, purchased the property from the Government Land Bank in 1997 for $505,000 and renovated the building.
Medical Director Carolynda Applebury confirmed in an email that the company would be opening the new location, but did not comment on the time table.
The U.S. Army built the building at 29 Buena Vista St. in Devens in 1931. It served as a general’s headquarters.
Applebury Behavior Associates has clinics in Leominster and Hadley and provides Applied Behavior Analysis services to individuals on the autism spectrum.
